From the Principal

Dear parents and carers,

It’s Showcase time! The school is filled with anticipation and excitement as we make the final preparations for Showcase 2026.In our last newsletter, we focused on the strong and positive school spirit we enjoy at St Anne’s and Showcase is another outstanding example of this. We look forward very much to welcoming you to Showcase next week.

Farewell, Thank you and Good Luck to Yr 12

Next week will be the final week for our Year 12 2025 cohort, a momentous event in their lives as they look forward to the future beyond school. The students will be honoured at a special assembly next Thursday 25th September when the school will come together in unity with their parents and special guests to celebrate their successful completion of their school education. As we reflect on the students’ time at St Anne’s, we are filled with pride and appreciation for all their contributions.

The prayer this week is dedicated to Year 12 and we ask that the community keeps the students in their prayers as they commence the HSC exams at the beginning of next term.

Information Technology Update

We are pleased to inform you that our Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn is currently working on developing a new student device portal. This initiative is designed to provide families with access to a range of computing devices tailored to suit the needs of students from Years 7 through 12.

For students in Years 7 to 9, the portal will offer a selection of devices at various price points, allowing families to choose an option that best suits their educational needs and budget.

For students in Years 10 to 12, the portal will include more advanced devices, better suited to support the increased academic demands of senior secondary studies and preparation for future pathways.

All devices offered through this portal will be purchased through a central procurement process, leveraging the buying power of our Catholic Education system to keep costs competitive. In addition, each device will come with an extensive warranty and be supported by our school’s  IT department, ensuring peace of mind and minimising downtime for students.

We believe this initiative will make it easier for families to access reliable, high-quality devices while  supporting consistent learning experiences across the school.

Further information, including launch dates, device options, and ordering instructions, will be  communicated as the portal is finalised.

The Resilience Project

Parents and carers will be aware that The Resilience Project has been implemented at St Anne’s over the last two years. We have been pleased to work together with the other schools in Temora and the Temora Shire Council to make building resilience in our students a focus for St Anne’s.

We are pleased to announce that The Resilience Project is hosting an event here in Temora on 23rd Oct at 6.30pm at the Town Hall to which parents and carers are invited to attend. You are invited to join The Resilience Project Partner and former AFL Player, Martin Heppell, for his flagship ‘Discovering Resilience’ presentation. Through his high-energy humour and captivating storytelling, Martin will share the evidence-based tips we can use everyday to improve our wellbeing and that of our family members.

Please see the flyer later in this newsletter for more details.

St Anne’s Community Council

The Community Council met last week and one of the major focus areas at present is of course the upcoming Garden Viewing on Sunday 26th October…another date for your calendar!

The Community Council has recently provided funds so that a Young Engineers Club can be established at St Anne’s. Thank you to Mr Brett Inch for leading this initiative and applying his considerable talents and passion to giving St Anne’s students the opportunity to learn and explore together in this purpose designed and resource space. Thank you to the Community Council for making this possible.

Term Dates 2026

Please click here to access the Term dates for 2026. The full calendar for St Anne’s for next year will be available and posted on the website next term.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents and carers of the importance of consistent attendance at school for all students. School attendance matters because every day students miss represents lost learning time.

In Conclusion…

Parents and Carers of Year 7-10 students can look forward to receiving the Term 3 Interim Reports at the end of Term 3. If you have any questions arising from the reports, please do not hesitate to contact the school to arrange a phone call or an appointment.

The Year 11 students are participating in the end of the preliminary course exams at present and will commence the final stage of Stage 6 in the new term. Parents can look forward to receiving Year 11 reports early in the new term and we look forward to meeting at the Year 12 Information Evening and Conferences on Thursday 30th October.

Finally, just a reminder that the last day of term for the students is Thursday 25th September and return for Term 4 on Tuesday 14th October. Please note, students return to Summer unform at the commencement of Term 4.

See you at Showcase!

With best wishes,

Louise Grant

Principal

As we approach the end of Term 3, the staff at St Anne’s invite our school community to keep our Year 12 students in their thoughts and prayers. After thirteen years of learning, growing, and contributing to our school, these three wonderful young women are preparing to face their final challenge.

From Thursday, 16th October to Thursday, 6th November, Josie, Lucy, and Rachael will sit their Higher School Certificate exams. Each of them has worked with dedication throughout the year, meeting the requirements of their courses, and now they have the opportunity to demonstrate all they have learnt. While exam results will help shape their next steps, we know they do not define the kind, capable, and valued people these young women already are.

As a school, we are proud of all that they have achieved. Our role has been to guide, teach, and support them — and now we stand beside them in prayer. We ask you to join us in praying that Josie, Lucy, and Rachael will approach this time with courage, calm, and confidence, and that they feel the love and encouragement of the whole St Anne’s community as they begin this important stage of their journey.

Wagga Dance Eisteddford - Primary

Our Year 5 and 6 girls have been working hard this term with Mrs Sandra Brown to polish and perfect their choreography for the Wagga Dance Eisteddfod. The girls were successful and took out first place very convincingly. Their timing, energy and positive vibe during the performance made it so enjoyable to watch.

We look forward to seeing this at Showcase.

Primary Sport

We extend our best wishes to Stella, Farley, Annabelle, Quinn, Ella, Zephanie, Jackson, Tristan, and Bodhi as they represent the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn at the MacKillop Athletics Championships in Sydney next Wednesday.

Secondary Sport - Small Schools Rugby Final

On Wednesday 10th September, our rugby league team braved the elements in Bathurst for the final of the Small Schools Knockout. The boys came up against a strong Parke’s team. A committed first half saw St Anne's just a try behind but a lack of reserves started to show in the second half. Parkes got on a roll and were hard to stop. Final score 44 to 10. Well done to the boys for making the final.

Thanks to Mr Hughes for coaching and Mr Inch for driving the bus.
