From the Principal

Dear Parents,

On behalf of all the staff at St Anne’s Catholic College Temora, I am happy to welcome you to the 2025 school year. We are looking forward to a positive and productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that to be successful in school, our students need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for the student’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

We look forward to welcoming you all to the the BBQ and Open Classrooms next Wednesday 12th February. This event provides a great opportunity to meet the teachers and establish the learning partnership.

Following the 2024 theme of Courageous in our Faith, our theme for this year is: Curious and Creative Thinkers.

Through this focus, the students will learn to generate and evaluate knowledge, consider alternatives, and solve problems. They will also learn to use skills such as reason, logic, imagination and innovation. Students will use critical and creative thinking to investigate religious concepts and ideas through the curriculum, our Josephite tradition and through the Catholic life of the school. The students will learn to balance and respect different perspectives and make ethical decisions. It is our aim to promote initiative and to seek out a relationship with God, to use their voices to speak up when they or others are in need, and to cherish and be proud of their personal faith.

Attendance Matters!

We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that

he/she:

  • Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
  • Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
  • Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
  • Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
  • Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
  • Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and to achieve their goals

Congratulations!

We are happy to inform you about the significant success in the conclusive results of the 2024 Higher School Certificate. This came because of the commitment and dedication of the students, teamwork and diligence by staff. It is hoped that this standard will not only be maintained but improved upon as we promote and celebrate excellence through determination and hard work.

Catalyst Goals for 2025

Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn continues to be committed to providing outstanding learning experiences that unlock each student’s full potential through Catalyst. Our Catalyst approach, grounded in evidence-based practice, offers world-class professional development and curriculum resources, ensuring consistent quality across all schools in our Archdiocese to achieve the System-wide bold goals:

* Every student becomes a competent reader

* High impact teaching practice is visible in every classroom

Informed by the Science of Learning and Science of Reading, focused on the teacher, and supported by the System and School, Catalyst enables us to reach our bold goals and transform student’s lives through learning.

The St Anne’s staff participated in professional learning during the pupil free days at the beginning of term to support us in achieving these goals.
