Sacred Heart Parish Confirmation 

Congratulations is extended to our Year 6 students who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation last weekend. Archbishop Christopher Prowse lead the Mass and the children were a credit to themselves. The students also enjoyed their retreat day last Thursday with Year 9 running some of the sessions, leading games and activities showcasing amazing Leadership. It was wonderful to see them all have such fun together.

 Year 9 Western Region Retreat in Temora

The Year 9 Western Region Retreat was held this week. We were joined by the CSYMI Youth Ministry Team and students from  Sacred Heart Cootamundra and McAuley Catholic College Tumut. It was a great day and Year 9 are congratulated for their involvement in the day. Thank you to the teachers who supported the students with supervision, especially Mrs Irving, Mr Leary and Ms McCrone, and special thanks to Noelene Williams for catering. It was lovely to have the Team join with us again this year.

Year 10 Retreat - Year 10 Please mark it in your calendar

Year 10 will be attending their overnight retreat in Week 10 from Tuesday July 1st to Wednesday July 2nd. Further details will be received via Compass. The CSYMI Youth Ministry team will be running the sessions on the first day. Father Alex is looking forward to accompanying the students and staff throughout the retreat.

Altar server training

We are about to run training for altar servers with Father Alex. The parish has only two active altar servers at the moment and we are very keen to have more young people serving in the parish and at school masses in this capacity. If your child is interested in training as an altar server and has made their First Eucharist (Communion) in the Catholic Church please email Mrs Collins on jacqueline.collins@cg.catholic.edu.au with an expression of interest to ensure that they don’t miss out on the training.
