You Can Do It
This year students from Kindy to year 6 participate in weekly wellbeing activities from the You Can Do It - Program Achieve. This program was developed by Professor Michael Bernard from the University of Melbourne, and is designed to teach positive attitudes, social-emotional skills, character strengths and values based on the science of wellbeing and achievement. Lessons for students teach mindfulness, grit, gratitude, optimism, resilience, self-acceptance, growth mindset, confidence, organisation and getting along. Each week our achievements in these areas are celebrated with You Can Do It awards at assembly.
Over the past few weeks we have been talking to students about setting goals and being confident, persistent and organised. Over the holidays it would be a great if you could point out to your child/children when they are showing any of these skills, as they are skills which will help build success.
Take care and have a great holiday.
