Easter Blessings
We are all called this Easter to turn our attention towards the Lord, to entrust ourselves to the Lord and to have faith in Him, just as the Lord Jesus Himself prayed to His heavenly Father, while He was in full agony in the Gardens of Gethsemane. He did not give in to despair and temptations to abandon His Passion, and instead, went on full ahead, willingly bearing the Cross for our sake, and even after being scourged, humiliated and falling three times, He kept on going up again and again, all for the love of us.
Looking to the example of Christ Jesus, we should be inspired to hold faith firmly in Him, entrusting ourselves to Him because we know that His love for us will never fail. This is the love that stood the test of time, and which allowed Him to suffer even unto His death on the Cross.
Let us all strive to be dedicated and faithful in this Holy Week, the time of reconciliation and rediscovery of our faith and love for God. Let us turn towards God with a new heart, and real and genuine desire to love the Lord with all of our strength.
May God bless us all, now and always, and may He guide us through life, helping us to grow ever more in faith, and be ever closer to Him, that one day we may be truly worthy to walk with Him together in His heavenly grace. Amen.
Passion Play
A special thank you is extended to the Year 9 & 10 students who presented the Passion Play this afternoon in the church. It is very special to be able to finally share the Easter message with one another once again and we are amazed at the reverent, respectful way in which the students took on this task to lead the community this Holy Thursday. Stage 5 you have done yourselves proud and we are very grateful to you for what you have shared with us all.
Thank you also to Mrs Breust for her coordination of the Passion Play and for her beautiful singing. Thank you also to Miss Jamieson, Noelene Williams and Mrs Taylor for your assistance with the preparations.
May you all have a blessed Easter and appreciate the opportunity once again to take some time for reflection, to attend Mass this Easter weekend and to recall the great sacrifice of Love offered for each of us.
Year 8 & 9 Retreats
The Year 8 and 9 students have enjoyed two amazing retreats this week led by the CSYMA Team of 10 volunteers who generously offered their time to come from Canberra to be with our students. The 90 students each day from the combined Central schools of St Anne’s, Macaulay at Tumut and Sacred Heart Cootamundra enjoyed the opportunity for friendship, spiritual growth, reflection, and a whole heap of fun. We are very blessed to have this opportunity and look forward to travelling to Tumut where they will be hosting the retreats next year. Our thanks are extended to Miss Jamieson, Noelene Williams, Mr Goode, Mrs Holland and Mr Haigh for their support to organise and feed our visitors.
