Science Shenanigans
Yr 8 Science
We have just finished our Chemistry topic in year 8, and the students are investigating the effect of environmental conditions on the corrosion of stainless steel. The beakers contain from left to right: air, tap water, salty water.
The differences between corrosion and combustion were also investigated, which was a great way to introduce the rate of reactions.
Yr 9 Science
Year nine have been studying Physics all term, and here are two of the boys working on their electric circuits. They needed to be able to see the difference between series and parallel circuits and discuss their shortcomings and benefits. Much of the term was spent on the different types of radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum, especially those used in communication.
