From the Principal
Dear St Anne's Community,
Week 7 is nearly complete and we now look to the few remaining weeks left of the 2021 school year and planning of the 2022 school year. It has been another interesting year for education; however, I continue to be impressed with the resilience of the students, staff and community. "It takes a village to raise a child" is an African proverb that means that an entire community of people must provide for and interact positively with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. I believe that St Anne's and the wider school community are doing a great job at this.
COVID Update:
In summary (as at 08 November 2021):
- All volunteers and those helping or working at school must show proof of vaccination.
- Masks must be worn indoors by all staff and students in Year 7 and above.
- Masks must be worn correctly covering nose and mouth.
- Teachers will enforce correct mask wearing in all classes and activities held indoors.
- We continue to have the students separated in cohorts as best we can and encourage good hand hygiene and physical distancing where we need to.
- Please continue to supply your child/ren with a drink bottle each day to avoid the need to use bubblers and taps.
- It is still not possible to hold assemblies or presentations with parents in attendance.
Thanks again for your efforts to keep our community safe. Rest assured we are doing as much as we can at school to provide as many opportunities for our students as restrictions allow. This sometimes means last minute changes to plans or alterations to arrangements. Please bear with us as we negotiate the constant communications from Catholic Education and NSW Health. Students and staff will be maintaining normal lessons right up until the end of Week 10, with excursions and pack up occuring in Week 11. Our End of Year Events flyer can be seen further along in this newsletter.
Day Excursions: We are able to arrange day excursions and staff are busy trying to provide an excursion of some kind (in Temora) for students in Week 11.
Community Council: Our final 2021 Community Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th December, 7pm in the Josephite room. If you were unable to attend the last open meeting at the Temora Hotel, please feel free to attend this one.
Compass App: Thank you to everyone that has downloaded and logged onto our Compass Parent Portal. We believe this portal will make life easier for you and your family.
**End of year reports will be released through Compass**
No hard copies will be sent home.
Please contact the school office if you encounter any difficulty or contact the CE helpdesk on 1300 232 448.
Kinder/Year 7 2022 Orientation Day/s: It has been great seeing all of our 2022 Kinder and Year 7 students enjoying their orientation days. Next year, we will have 5 new students joining St Anne's in Year 7.
Take care,
Grant Haigh
