Altar server training
All children who have received their first Eucharist are eligible to consider becoming an Altar Server in our Parish. If your child is interested in joining the training which started back this week please contact Mrs Collins as soon as possible. The expectation is that each server would be placed on the weekend roster every few weeks. The more servers, the less often. A note will be sent home with interested children for families to nominate their preference of Saturday or Sunday Mass times. If you have any queries please feel free to contact Mrs Collins at jacqueline.collins@cg.catholic.edu.au
St Vincent de Paul Appeal
A note was emailed home during the week requesting families to please support the St Vincent de Paul appeal once again this year. Your support is greatly appreciated. We ask that you please return your family’s donation in an envelope to the school office by Tuesday the 30th November for our Sharing Liturgy in Week 9, where our donation will be given to a representative from St Vincent de Paul.
The SRC representative group of students will be involved in leading the Liturgy and presenting donations on behalf of the school this year. We thank you in anticipation of your continued support of this wonderful local Catholic charity.
Sacrament of First Eucharist
Our congratulations are extended to our Year 4 students who last week made their Sacrament of First Eucharist. The students also prepared beautifully and enjoyed a wonderful day of preparation at their Retreat. We wish them well and know that this precious Sacrament will be a beautiful experience for each of them.
Special thanks to Mrs Kate Harris and Mrs Nicole Miller for preparing our Year 4 class. Special thanks are also extended to Mrs Nola Drum who has again helped to prepare the after school group for our parish and assist in the Mass as sacristan. We also thank Mrs Virginia Bent for her assistance, Guinevere Drumore as altar server and Mai Pham and family for the donation of cupcakes for the candidates. Of course we thank Father Sijo for his constant care and dedication to our children as he has helped them to prepare, particularly by celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation in preparation yesterday.
