From the Principal
Dear St Anne's Community,
Welcome back! I hope that you were able to spend some quality time as a family over the break.
I would like to thank our Groundsmen Greg Williams and John Goode for the great work they completed over the break. They are taking a very pro-active approach to maintenance around the school and it is appreciated. They painted, cleaned windows, cleaned lights and cleaned the carpets.
Our students have returned to school in a very positive manner and it is nice to see them in their winter school uniform.
Thank you to all of our students and staff that represented the school at the recent ANZAC Day Mass, March and Service. It was nice to see so many people in attendance and our school captains should be proud of the way they spoke during the service in the park.
Congratulations to all of our Years 5 & 6 students for their participation in the Mortimer Shield today and all the best to our Cross Country runners tomorrow in Gundagai. Good luck to our Secondary students participating in the Secondary CCC Cross Country next week.
Next week is Catholic School's Week and we will be recognising this with a Mother's Day breakfast, open classrooms and liturgy. Please see the flyer later on in the newsletter.
Our next School Community Council meeting is to be held on Tuesday 10th May, 7pm in the Josephite room.
This week I sent home two important emails that contain information about the approach to COVID this term. Please have a look over these and make contact if you are unsure of anything.
On behalf of the staff and students, I would like to thank Claire Maxwell for her 13 years of service to St Anne's and wish her all the best with her new endeavours.
Welcome to our new school counsellor, Laura. Laura is with us every Thursday and Friday. You can get in touch with her by contacting the office.
Naplan is on in Week 3 this term. You can support your child by reassuring them that NAPLAN is a part of their school program and reminding them to simply do their best, not to rush the test and to get a good night's sleep the night before each test.
Take care,
Grant Haigh
