Eggciting Library Lessons
Students from Kinder to Year 6 have been very eggcited about their Library lessons. We currently have 9 eggs in an incubator and are eggspecting that early next week some chicks will hatch from them. The students have used a candler and viewed the changes inside the egg from day 1 to day 7. Today we are up to day 17 of incubation. The chicks are due to hatch on day 21.
K to Year 2 students have been learning about eggs, chicks and how to care for chicks. This week they looked at what a chick would need to survive and have created a safe place to home our chicks when they hatch. Stage 2 students are in the process of designing posters outlining how to care for chicks. Stage 3 students have been closely following what is happening during the incubation period. They are also busy writing information books about an animal to read to the Infants classes later this term.
