From the Principal

Dear St Anne's Community,

Winter has arrived! I hope that you are all in good health and able to escape the cold as much as possible.

NEW ENROLMENT

A warm welcome to Zain and his family. Zain will be joining our Year 2 class next week.

Year 11 INFORMATION NIGHT

We had an amazing turn out for the Year 11 information night this week. Supported by the deputy Director of Catholic Education Canberra/Goulburn, Dr Tony Bracken, we delivered our plan for Year 11 at St Anne's to over 30 people. If you missed the night and you have questions, please make contact with the school. A brochure was handed out with important dates for supporting your child in their Year 11 and 12 pathway. Additionally, there is a tab on our school website (under Education) that will assist you with any questions and provide you with access to any documents handed out to date.

UNIFORM COMMITTEE

One last call for anyone that might be interested in reviewing our school uniform and to be a part of the design process for the Year 11 and 12 uniform.

Last newsletter item:

"At the recent Community Council meeting, I discussed the need to review our school uniform. Lowes have indicated that they would not stock our uniform if we did not move our entire range to their store. In supporting local business, I would like us to work with Millers to stock our full range of uniform. Additionally, with year 11 and 12 on the horizon, it is important to explore a uniform for them. One that identifies them as senior students. If you would like to be a part of this committee, please email the school and we will add you to the mailing list when we organise the first meeting."

STAFFING

I will be taking two weeks Long Service Leave from Friday 10/6/22 and I will return on Monday 27/6/22. While I am on leave, Mrs Geraldine Holland will be acting Principal, Mrs Kellye-Anne Coleman will be acting Assistant Principal and Mrs Donna Fogarty will be acting Primary Coordinator. I thank them all for their support. Mrs Coleman and Mrs Fogarty will keep their teaching duties on year 6. Mrs Holland will come off class and be replaced by Mrs Nikki Taylor and Mrs Fogarty. My email address will be unattended for this period of time. Please contact the office or Mrs Holland with any questions during this time.

We look forward to welcoming Kristi-Lee Winkley to St Anne's next term, as she takes on the fulltime teaching duties for Year 5.

REPORTS

Student's reports will be sent out electronically via Compass on Thursday of Week 10. This will be the same process as Semester 2 last year. Compass is a great way to view your child's report and to see past reports as well. Just go to the reports tab in Compass to view these.

SCHOOL WEBSITE

We have been making a few changes to our school website. The intent is to make it more user friendly and easier to find information for current and prospective parents.

2023 ENROLMENTS

Our enrolment drive for 2023 is continuing. The official enrolment period for Catholic Schools in this Archdiocese concluded on Friday 27 May. However, in regional areas such as Temora, we continue to take enrolments throughout the year. If you have a child entering Kindergarten next year, please contact the office for an enrolment form. An interview will be organised in Term 3. If your friends have a child commencing in Kindergarten, Year 7 or 11 next year, please encourage them to consider St Anne's as an option for their child’s education. There is provision for an online enrolment form which can be accessed through our school website.

2023 STUDENT LEAVERS

If you know that your child will be departing St Anne's at the end of this year, we would greatly appreciate an email or phone call. This assists us with planning, budgeting, staffing etc.

PUPIL FREE DAY

Just a reminder that we have another pupil free day on Friday 1 July 2022. This is the last day of the school term and it will assist staff with professional development. I am gratedul for your support of these days.

Take care,

Grant Haigh
