Engineering, Metal & Construction
Year 7/8 Technology Mandatory Engineering
Over the course of 13 weeks year 7 and 8 students have been immersing themselves in Technology Mandatory Engineering. Students have been guided through Engineers role in society and how engineering has a massive effect on everyday lives. Students were assigned a task around designing and constructing a catapult following a set of guidelines and strict parameters. All students managed to produce functioning catapults, and continually make design improvements throughout the build process.

Year 9/10 Industrial Technology Metal
Year 9 and 10 Industrial Technology Metal students have been working diligently through term 1 and 2 on their Fire Pit project. Students have undertaken a collaborative design process, working as individuals and then in groups to develop a Fire Pit design that can be used as an option for future Industrial Technology Metal classes. With multiple skills being applied the result is a fully functioning Fire Pit with cooking attachment that has high aesthetic value.

Year 9/10 Certificate I VET Construction
Year 9/10 Certificate I Construction students have truly been busy. After undertaking a small project to promote skills, Construction students were given the task of reconfiguring the workshop to ensure Metal, Timber and Construction courses could run effectively in the same space. Students built multi purpose benches, designed and fitted tool racking, hanging storage, and continually generated ideas around improvement through team discussion. All students demonstrated the ability to work as individuals, small teams or as a class with outstanding results. It also should be noted the contribution made by Year 10 2021. In the last weeks of term 4 2021, Year 10 Timber and Metal students started the process of building new work benches reducing the size of the task for the 2022 Construction class. It is clearly an all-round team effort with excellent results.
