Dear St Anne's Community,
As the term draws to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support this year. It has been a challenging year with many changes to the normal St Anne's routine and you have all been very accommodating and accepting of this. I would also like to thank all of our wonderful staff for their efforts.
The leadership team and I met today for a planning day to discuss our 3 year Strategic Plan, the 2021 Annual plan and various other important dates and plans. We will inform you of the specific goals in the new year. 2021 is looking very bright, with plenty of positive and exciting initiatives being implemented at St Anne's. Thank you to the leadership team for their dedication and care this year. We hope that restrictions ease even further, so that we can open our gates and welcome you back to school wide events.
On behalf of all the staff and students, I would like to thank and farewell Dean Cartwright, Lia Marin and Simone Pope for their service to St Anne's. They have all made St Anne's a better place with their presence and we wish them all the best in their new positions.
To the families that are departing St Anne's at the end of the year, thank you for all that you have done to make our community a great one. From the many fundraisers, canteen duties or sporting carnivals (to name a few), we appreciate your efforts. We wish that we were able to farewell you in a more fitting manner.
Congratulations to the graduating classes of Year 10 and Year 6. To the year 10 students, well done for a great year as leaders of the school and we wish you the best of luck with your future endeavours.
The renovations are progressing well with the Science room nearing completion. Please see pictures in the Building section of this newsletter.
At this weeks Community Council meeting, the 2021 School Budget and fees were presented and discussed. I thank the community council for their support and input into all things St Anne's. Thank you to Liz Barrett for her work with the budget.
Thank you to our outgoing School Captains, Sports Captains and SRC students, you have done an amazing job this year. Congratulations to our newly elected School Captains and Sports Captains. I am confident that they will be excellent leaders. Congratulations in advance to all of this years award receipients.
I pray that you all have a safe and happy Christmas and that you are able to have some quality time with your family and friends.
Take care,
Grant
Visit to spread Christmas cheer Narraburra & Greenstone Lodges - It was such a delight to be involved with the Year 8 & 9 students who volunteered their time to sing Christmas Carols to the residents of Narraburra & Greenstone Lodges earlier this week. The students were so generous with their smiles and waves, and enthusiastic singing. We actually managed to get some pretty cool dance moves out of them as well. The staff of the Lodges expressed their deepest gratitude to the students because their visit (though from a distance) was the only visit for the residents in quite some time. The students definitely understood the significance of their visit and were such a credit to themselves and the school in their support of the community in this Advent season.
Year 6 Graduation - We congratulate Year 6 ahead of their Graduation Mass tomorrow and trust that they will thrive with the challenges and exciting opportunities that come with starting their secondary schooling. We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them blossom.
Year 10 Graduation - We congratulate Year 10 ahead of their Graduation Mass next Tuesday evening and wish them every success in their future endeavours. They have been amazing ambassadors and leaders of our student body at St Anne’s and will be missed.
Christmas Eve Children’s Mass - Thank you to the families who have responded and volunteered their children to be involved in the Christmas Eve Mass in Callaghan Park. If your child is still interested in being involved please email Mrs Collins as soon as possible at jacqueline.collins@cg.catholic.edu.au and you will receive details regarding practice.
Thank you for Sharing Liturgy donations - Our sincerest thanks for your generous donations in support of the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal and the needy families which this will support within our community.
The St Anne’s staff and students wish you all a safe, happy and holy Christmas. May this time with family and friends be a time to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and to reflect on the gift that we each should be for one another.
