Dear St Anne's Community,
I hope that you are all well.
Uniform
Last week, I spoke with Anita, the regional uniform manager from Lowes. Anita gave me an update on some of our uniform items.
- If you are ordering online and the website tells you the item is out of stock, please call the Wagga store and it will be posted to you regardless. The website is being corrected to allow us to order what is instore, online.
- The sports polo and long sleeve senior white shirt stock should be in the store in the next 2 weeks.
- As always, if there are any concerns please make contact with me.
Storage- shipping containers
We are experiencing some storage constraints as we grow in student population. Therefore, we have two new shipping containers on the way. One will be housed on the boundary with Temora Public School and be used as storage for the TAS department. The other will go to Fr Hannan Oval and be used as storage for the high jump mats that we acquired from St Francis at Leeton.
Do it for Dolly
Thank you to the Student Well Being team led by Mrs Wallace for their efforts in organising the Pyjama day dress up. The key message "whether your in your pyjamas at home or uniform at school, there's no place for bullying!" is so important. Students participated in various activities in class and at assembly and the gold coin donation will go to the Do it for Dolly organisation.

Last week, we had our annual athletics carnival at Nixon Park. Thank you to Mr Tait, Mr Hughes and Miss Ryan for their parts in organising the day. Thank you to our Staff for their work in presenting the information nights. They have been well received by the community. This week, Miss Jamieson and I travelled out to West Wyalong and presented to a number of potential parents of Year 7, 2024 students.
Kindergarten Teacher 2024
I am pleased to announce that Miss Bridgitt Ryan will be our Kindergarten teacher in 2024. Next year will be Miss Ryan's third year on Kindergarten here at St Anne's.
Grant Success!
Last term, I applied for a $25,000 grant to source classroom air purifiers and play equipment. We were told this term that we were successful in this application. We are now sourcing the items and we will keep you updated.
Take care,
Grant Haigh
Principal

St Anne’s Athletics Carnival 2023
St Anne's conducted its Athletics Carnival last Friday in beautiful conditions at Nixon Park. Congratulations to all students for the way they participated with great energy and spirit. The participation rate of our students was amazing, resulting in a record 82 Iron Person awards!
An incredible 11 records were broken on the day across a variety of events, some very long standing dating back to the late 80’s. A special mention to Lani McCrone breaking 6 individual records including the senior 1500m record in her first year in the senior category.
A big thank you to all the teachers and classroom aides, along with Ali McCrone and any parents that helped out with the main carnival or the infants activities.

Primary Western Region Athletics Carnival
Western Region athletics is next Friday, 16th June at Tumut. If anyone who qualified is not going to attend, please inform Mr Hughes urgently. Good luck to all competitors next week in sunny Tumut!
For the first time in a long time the Secondary had two teams compete in the Archdiocese Basketball Championships.
The 7/8 B - Boys came away with 1 win and the 9/10 B - Girls a win and a draw. A great effort from both teams against some tough competition.
NSW CCC All Schools Touch Representative
Last weekend Maisy McCrone competed at the State Touch Tournament for the U15's Girls CCC side at Narrabeen.
The event allows CCC students to play against CHS and CIS schools in a round-robin tournament with the opportunity to be selected in the NSW State team.
The girls came away with 1 draw and 3 close defeats, but it was a fantastic opportunity to play with the best in the state.
Great work Maisy!

Mortimer Shield Gala Day 2023
St Anne’s participated in the annual Mortimer Shield League and Tag Gala Day last Wednesday with a girls tag team and a boys league team.
The girls had some success winning two and losing one to Public school 1. The boys had a tough day losing all four games narrowly. All players are to be congratulated on their spirit and skills, particularly those that don’t normally play tag or league. Players of the day were Ava Derrick and Harry Swanston
NSW Netball Schools Cup 2023
St Anne’s sent eight Primary mixed netball teams to the annual NSW Cup netball carnival in Wagga last week. Under threatening skies, all teams enjoyed a great day of netball, particularly the boys who may never had played before. St Anne’s Green were defeated in the final 10-5 by an all girls team!. Congratulations to all players who played with great spirit and skill and thanks to the parents who came along to watch and support.
MacKillop Netball Selection
Congratulations to Ava Derrick who was selected to represent MacKillop Primary netball at the State championships in Port Macquarie in Week 2 next term. We wish her all the very best as she takes the next step in her netball career!
