Please check compass for details.
Book Week Parade
K-6 students are invited to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character on Wednesday 23rd August. Family and friends are invited to watch the Parade which will take place on the playground at 9:15am.
Students will parade with their class where prizes will be awarded for the best costume in each class. After last years success we will also be running "The Group Parade". This is optional. Students may choose to dress up with friends in their class or family members as a group. For example, they could come as the characters from "The Wizard of Oz".
If students choose not to dress up they are asked to come to school in their uniform. Students who have PE on Wednesday are reminded to pack suitable footwear to change into for this lesson.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. This years theme is ‘For Our Elders’. Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.
They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and our loved ones.
Our loved ones who pick us up in our low moments and celebrate us in our high ones. Who cook us a feed to comfort us and pull us into line, when we need them to.
They guide our generations and pave the way for us to take the paths we can take today. Guidance, not only through generations of advocacy and activism, but in everyday life and how to place ourselves in the world.
We draw strength from their knowledge and experience, in everything from land management, cultural knowledge to justice and human rights. Across multiple sectors like health, education, the arts, politics and everything in between, they have set the many courses we follow.
The struggles of our Elders help to move us forward today. The equality we continue to fight for is found in their fight. Their tenacity and strength has carried the survival of our people.
It is their influence and through their learnings that we must ensure that when it comes to future decision making for our people, there is nothing about us - without us.
We pay our respects to the Elders we’ve lost and to those who continue fighting for us across all our Nations and we pay homage to them.
NAIDOC Week falls in the first week of the winter school holidays so our Catholic schools celebrate this important week with events in term 3. On the 21st of July Mr Haigh, Miss Winkley and the primary and secondary captains travelled to Sacred Heart Church, Cootamundra to take part in a NAIDOC Mass.
MacKillop Netball Trials 2023
Last week Ava Derrick represented the MacKillop Primary Netball team at the NSW Netball Championships held in Port Macquarie. After a very full week of intense netball, Ava’s team came 3rd out of 14 teams with 11 wins and just 2 losses for the week, a great effort.
