Dear St Anne's Community,
Welcome back!
We started Term 4 with a whole school assembly last Tuesday morning. It was nice to start the term all together and it gave me an opportunity to update our students on the exciting things that are happening here at St Anne's. Points outlined:
- It is the Year of the Holy Spirit and our Senior Captains led us in prayer using the Year of the Holy Spirit prayer card.
- I congratulated students on their showcase performance and conduct and that we are proud of their efforts.
- We welcomed our very first group of Year 12 students. Year 11 becomes Year 12 this term.
- Secondary school lockers have been ordered. (These will not be availble now until the beginning of next year)
- New classroom furniture has been ordered for secondary rooms.
- 2 classrooms (demountables) are being delivered this term.
- We have some small play equipment coming for use at Fr Hannan.
- School name change.
- We are close to purchasing a school bus. The bus will be a 25 seat Mitsubishi Rosa.
- I explained that the 2024 School Captains process will begin soon.
- I reiterated the high expectations we place on student behaviour and academic work. I outlined the things that are not welcome at St Anne's; Bullying, Racism, Vaping and Mean or Nasty comments. Respect your teachers and your peers. Rubbish must go in the bins provided.
New students
A warm welcome to Arush in Yr 8, Olivia in Yr 6 and their respective families.
Student Pick up and Drop off
It is important that students are dropped off and picked up at Joey's Hall on Loftus St of a morning and afternoon. It is too dangerous to have students leaving via DeBoos St, due to the buses arriving and departing.
Staff Development Day
Staff and I met last Monday for our Term 4 Staff Devlopment Day. We spent some time looking at The Resilience Project, collaborated in Primary and Secondary teams and then worked on High Impact Teaching Practices material.
Last Day of Term 4
The last day for students and staff is Friday 15th December 2023.
Have a great term!
Take care,
Grant Haigh
