Dear St Anne's Community,
We have had a great start to the term with students settling back into routine very well.
Buildings and Maintenance
This week, Liz Barrett and I met with the Architect that is leading our school master plan project. We reviewed the feedback that was received from our staff, students and parents. From here, the Architect will go back to the office and design some options for future school buildings or modifications. The other part of the meeting was the exciting news that we have two new (temporary) toilet blocks being delivered to our school later this term. This will ease the pressure on our current toilet block due to increasing numbers. The two modular classrooms are still on track to be delivered this term as well. The new access toilet will be handed over to the school in the coming weeks.
School Bus (see photo further along)
We are very excited to inform you that we purchased a school bus yesterday. The bus is a second hand 2018 model Mitsubishi Rosa 25 seater with 25,000km on the clock. It has many safety features, including; seat belts on all seats, reversing camera and flashing school lights when stopped. Mr Tait and I travelled to Sydney to take delivery of the bus. I would like to thank Mr Tait for joining me at 5am as we left Temora, with him not returning until 9pm last night. A big thank you to Liz Barrett for her behind the scenes work with the bus purchase administration. This bus will provide our students and staff with many opportunities moving forward.
Staffing
I would like to congratulate Mrs Jodie Tame on her appointment as Secondary Coordinator starting next year. We will have an opportunity to thank Mrs Georgina Breust for her great work this year as Acting Secondary Coordinator. Currently, I am working through the 2024 staffing arrangements and have a number of positions advertised, to continue the great teaching and learning that is already taking place in our classrooms.
Garden Viewing
Thank you to the Garden Viewing committee for their organisation and efforts to bring the event together. We look forward to the event this Sunday. Thank you to all the volunteers that will give up their time or baked goods to support the event as well.
Community Council Open Meeting
The next Community Council meeting in week 7 will be an open meeting. All parents are welcome to attend and hear from the CC or ask any questions etc. Tuesday Week 7 at 7pm in the main office building. There are a number of changes to the structure of the Community Council starting next year. All community council members have been involved in a consultation process to develop a new charter. I encourage you to speak with a CC member for more information about the changes.
Take care,
Grant Haigh
Principal
Congratulations to the First Eucharist recipients in Year 4 who made their Sacrament last weekend. There were 15 children in total and it was a lovely celebration. Sincere thanks are expressed to Mrs Fogarty for her dedication and preparation of the class. Thank you also to Mrs Bent, Miss Jamieson and Mr Haigh who assisted with the Mass.
As always, special Masses cannot be celebrated without the support of students, parents and parishioners who volunteer their time so generously. Thank you to Cathy Drumore, Guinevere Drumore, Jadah Cotton and the choir for the beautiful music on the day. We also thank Harvey Drumore and Joey Cotton who were the altar servers, Julian Drumore who was acolyte and Francis Hoban as sacristan. Thanks are also expressed to Sonya Lancaster and Rachael Sheridan for setting the altar during the Mass.
These children are now eligible to train as altar servers. Any parents who would like their child to be involved are asked to please let Mrs Collins know via email at jacqueline.collins@cg.catholic.edu.au asap. .

Boorowa Touch & Football Carnival
St Anne’s competed at the annual Boorowa Touch.netball carnival last Friday in beautiful conditions for sport.
Five netball and five touch teams from Year 2-6 played 5-6 games each in a non-competitive, fun oriented competition. A huge thanks to the secondary students who coached, refereed, umpired and mentored their own teams-many people commented on what a wonderful job they did!! Well done to the students and teachers, parents and carers who made the day run so smoothly.
