A reminder that the St Anne's athletics carnival has changed from Friday 31st May, to Monday 3rd June, due to the inclement weather forecast for Friday. We are desperately short on people to run field events, so if you can help out please contact the office to let them know.
St Anne's is hosting the Western Region athletics carnival on Friday 21st June at Nixon Park. This is a great opportunity for the school to raise funds from the kiosk, BBQ and raffles.
We wish Georgie O'Connor and Elsie Keith the best of luck as they trial for MacKillop selection in the Open Primary soccer selections on Friday 31st May.
St Anne’s sent four teams to the annual Mortimer shield rugby league and League Tag carnival at Nixon park Temora, last Wednesday.
The girls had three teams, two in the competitive draw and one in the non competitive draw. The number one team won all four games quite convincingly while the number two team showed great improvement as the day progressed. The number three team played two games and had much closer games, once again improving with each game.
The boys won all three of their games, again quite convincingly. All players are to be congratulated on their fantastic skills and sportsmanship and huge thanks goes to many players who don’t normally play league or tag-well done.
St Anne’s Primary sent ten teams to the annual NSW Cup Netball gala day in Young last Thursday, 16th May.
In beautiful conditions all teams did themselves and the school proud with their skills and sportsmanship. The Year 3/4 teams were in a non competitive competition, however, the Year 5/6 teams played competitively with the Year 6 Black and Year 6 Pink winning through to the next level of the competition in Wagga on Monday 26th August.
Thanks to the families who attended to lend their support and all of the teachers who coached and supervised all day- it was a wonderful day of netball.
Canberra Goulburn Cross Country at Mt Stromlo
On Friday 17th May both Primary and Secondary students competed at the Canberra Goulburn Cross Country at Mt Stromlo.
Congratulations to our diocese champions Annabelle Gray, Grace McCrone, Stella Krause and Jarvey Crawford. We also had Quinn Crawford, Zephanie Lancaster and Lenny Lancaster finish in the top 3 from their respective races.
Max Swavely, Liam Edis, Belle Wilesmith and Ella McCrone have also qualified with all students off to Sydney for their next event.
We wish you all the best of luck!
A sucessful day was had by our secondary boys at the first round of Schools Cup recently held in Young. Both the Yr 7/8 and 9/10 teams were undefeated.
They will now progress to phase two to held in Wagga later in the year.
