Dear parents and carers,
School spirit is a powerful reflection of pride, achievement and determination. It goes hand in hand with positivity and is a benchmark of a school’s holistic success. Friday’s Cake Drive demonstrated that school spirit is thriving at St Anne’s. The day provides a great example of what can happen when a community works together in unity with enthusiasm and generosity. Thank you, students, parents, grandparents, friends and staff, for your contributions. Thank you to Temora businesses for your terrific support! And congratulations to everyone for achieving the impressive total of $4,538.00 for CanAssist!

Kindergarten Orientation
We were delighted to welcome the Kindergarten 2026 children to St Anne’s last week for the first of their orientation sessions. The children enjoyed exploring the library and working on some craft, while parents enjoyed a coffee together and the chance to connect with other parents new (and not so new) to St Anne’s.
We look forward to the further upcoming orientation sessions and working in partnership with families to ensure a smooth transition to ‘big school’ for the little ones.
Meeting the Honourable Chris Minns MP – Premier of NSW
Our Primary and Secondary School Captains, Fr Alex and I were pleased to attend the reception for Chris Minns, representing the College and the Parish. Mr Minns spoke very positively about the strength of the Temora community
Chris Minns was in town to support the Temora District Education Fund and attended their annual fundraising dinner on Thursday evening. A great evening and a great fundraising opportunity for such a worthy cause, the dinner was very well attended and we enjoyed hearing from the Premier.
Welcome to the Catholic Education Inclusion Team
We welcomed the Inclusion Team from our Canberra office on Tuesday and all the Classroom Support Teachers from the Western Region of the Archdiocese on Wednesday. Mrs Nicole Miller (Primary School CST) and Mrs Jenny Duncan (Secondary CST) made the most of having the expertise of the team on campus through classroom visits and discussions to ensure our students at St Anne’s are receiving the best possible supports. We are grateful to the Inclusion Team and to CE for all their support and for the additional funding we have received during 2025 to increase support hours for our students.
In conclusion…
It is an exciting time for Year 11 as they conclude the preliminary HSC course over the next few weeks and enter Year 12 at the beginning of Term 4. It was a pleasure to spend the day with the Year 11 students focusing on leadership as they step up to be the senior leaders of the students at St Anne’s. Thank you Mrs Kristy Wallace for leading this focus day, sharing her personal experiences of leadership and inspiring the students (and staff!).
I will be attending the Western Region Principal’s meeting in Tumut on Thursday and Friday and am sorry to be missing the Father’s Day celebrations on Friday. Staff and students look forward very much to welcoming St Anne’s Dads to the College on Friday at 1.00pm for lunch and some playground games followed by the traditional Dad’s versus students footy game at Fr Hannan at 1.30.
Wishing St Anne’s families happy Father’s Day celebrations this weekend!
With best wishes,
Louise Grant

Prayer
A Blessing for Father's Day
God our Father,
In your wisdom and love you have created us and called us your own. Bless our fathers, that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
In moments of joy, rejoice with them. In times of struggle, give them your courage and perseverance. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor and appreciate them always with a spirit of profound respect. May the example and prayer of St. Joseph inspire them to live their vocation with courage.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Riverina Netball Schools Cup Finals
On Monday, 25 August, 32 of our Year 7–10 students travelled to Wagga to compete in the Riverina Netball Schools Cup Finals. Facing strong competition, all four of our teams represented the school with distinction, demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination throughout the day.
A particular highlight was the performance of our Year 7/8 Boys and Girls teams, along with the Year 9/10 Boys team, who secured two wins from their four matches. While this was not quite enough to progress into the finals, it was a commendable achievement against quality opposition.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Claire Hartwig and Isabel Fairman, who generously volunteered their time to umpire on the day. Their contribution was greatly appreciated and ensured the smooth running of the competition.
Congratulations to all students on another successful Schools Cup campaign. We are proud of your efforts and look forward to seeing how our teams perform in 2026.

TRP in the Classroom with Year 2
As a part of The Resilience Project, Year 2 have been focusing on Emotional Literacy. They have discussed and explored the concept that all emotions are normal and part of the human experience. Emotions serve a natural purpose and help us to survive and thrive. Year 2 now know that emotions are signals from our body/brain telling us an important message, how we feel about a situation, or that we need something. It is alright to have different emotions about the same situation or to share the same emotion. For example, some of us are frightened of thunderstorms while others enjoy them.
Year 2 spent time discussing and identifying different emotions in class in small groups. They identified how our body reacts to different situations and named the emotions that go with these feelings and actions. Year 2 then had to choose an emotion and illustrate it on a "paddle pop puppet" and write the emotion on their puppet. In groups they shared a time that they have experienced this emotion and the message it was telling them about the situation they were sharing.
